Race Description: The Challenge the Island adventure race is the first race of the
2005 Challenge Series, incorporating 10-15 miles of mountain biking, 4-8 miles of running/trekking,
and 2-5 miles of paddling. Basic navigation skills will be required. Look for more navigation and less course marking than in past years.
This is not advanced navigation but will require map consultation and route choices.
Special tests will be set up along the way to test teamwork and physical and mental
skills. The rugged location of this course will challenge all your adventure race skills. Specific
course information will be given to the racers just prior to the start of the race.
Course and disciplines are subject to change due to weather, safety or other reasons
determined by the Race Director.
